CAUGHT OUT IN A SQUALL

When walking on any Hebridean island, the weather can catch you out. This squall caught me out at the far end of an island, and I just managed to find a little protection under a rocky overhang before the menacing black cloud was above me and the wind and rain started. It only lasted 5 to 10 minutes, but I still remember the raindrops dripping off the rocks onto my anorak hood. The squall had passed, the sun shone and there, in front of me, was a rainbow arching across the sky, the birds sang again and the world was good.
